A new property portal has promised house hunters an experience akin to getting on the guest-list at a movie premiere, by giving them the ability to book viewings for properties before full details are available anywhere else online.

Boomin has plans to be far more than just a classified listings site that generates unqualified leads. Instead, it’s focused on opening up the property market, providing new ways for agents to engage with customers and launching new services to give estate agents more revenue generating opportunities.

Boomin’s unusual ‘matchmaker’ service helps buyers connect with homeowners who aren’t yet on the market; house hunters post a free advert pinpointing their dream locations and potential sellers can ask to be introduced. It also promises to match buyers and sellers more accurately and viewings can be booked online 24/7. Agents will be able to tempt buyers with off-market and pre-marketing properties, while Boomin has a ‘property playground’ where consumers can plan their new home – and buy interiors products to kit it out prior to exchange – and will pay agents a cut of any profits.

The platform was developed by Michael and Kenny Bruce and David Shepherd, who previously launched Purplebricks in 2014, and is challenging Rightmove and Zoopla with a multi-million pound marketing spend that kicks off with a national advertising campaign tomorrow during Gogglebox.

At least 5,000 agency branches have already signed up and Michael Bruce insists its service won’t squeeze agents out of the home moving process. “Our aim is to open up the market and create more transactions and opportunities but, as some people have speculated, we are not in the game of putting buyers and sellers directly in touch with each other – agents are central to our model,” he says.
