A West Midlands lettings agency is celebrating after scooping two respected property industry awards.
Premier Places has claimed the Silver award in the Best Midlands Lettings Agency (Single Office) category as part of the Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2014.
The Worcestershire-based agency, which employs 13 staff and manages over 500 properties in the region, also won a national Silver award in the Best Student Lettings Agency category at the London ceremony where nearly 6,000 letting agencies were vying for the top awards.
The double win completes a successful 12 months for the firm following the appointment of Dani James as chief executive and the official unveiling of the agency’s dedicated student property service, Student Places.
Miss James, said: “To be recognised for the service we provide our tenants and landlords is fantastic. The whole team is buzzing that our work has been acknowledged on a national scale.
“For Premier Places to be seen as a leading single office agency in the Midlands is fantastic. Over the past year we have focussed on adding extra incentives for professional tenants and also families, while also introducing new service options for landlords. That new approach has been really popular.
“Our new student services have also helped to propel the business forward and we have launched new initiatives to advise and support students. To win a Silver award for that commitment, and against such strong national competition, is the icing on the cake.
“Both are perfect rewards for the team who have gone from strength to strength.”
Julia Williams, owner of Premier Places, added: “When we restructured the business last summer I said how ambitious we were to take Premier Places into a different league. Both awards show how we’re reaching that goal – through both our tenant and landlord services and as part of an overhauled commercial approach.
“Being highlighted as a forward-thinking lettings agency in the UK is magnificent. Our team, led by Dani, deserve all the plaudits which have come their way.”
As part of the awards process Premier Places entered detailed submissions to the 21-strong judging panel and took part in telephone interviews and a ‘mystery customer’ exercise.
The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2014 was in association with The Sunday Times and The Times and is sponsored by Zoopla Property Group.
The annual ceremony, held at the Lancaster London Hotel, was hosted by journalist and newsreader Penny Smith with winners being presented with their awards by Katie Piper, an award-winning international author. The awards are now into their fifth year.
