Rumble with the Agents raises £15,000 for hospice charity at annual boxing event

The property industry has raised £15,000 for North London Hospice through the latest Rumble with the Agents charity boxing event, underlining the sector's long-standing commitment to supporting local communities beyond the day-to-day business of housing.

Hundreds of landlords, letting agents, estate agents, developers and suppliers gathered in London on 11 June for the annual fundraiser, which combines white-collar boxing with networking and charitable giving.

The event, founded by Landlord Action's Paul Shamplina and now in its 11th year, has become one of the property's sector's most recognisable charity initiatives. Since its launch in 2015, Rumble with the Agents has raised more than £200,000 for causes ranging from homelessness and mental health support to community projects and end-of-life care.

This year's beneficiary, North London Hospice, received £15,000 following a night of fundraising that included a raffle, auction and donations from guests and sponsors.

Shamplina said the event continues to showcase the charitable spirit of an industry often judged solely on its commercial activities.

"Every year I am blown away by the generosity of the property industry," he said.
"What started as a way of combining my passion for boxing with raising money for good causes has become a fantastic industry event that continues to make a real difference. To raise £15,000 is a fantastic achievement and I would like to thank everyone who boxed, attended, sponsored, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets and supported the event."

The funds arrive at a critical time for hospices across the UK, many of which are facing increasing demand for services alongside rising operating costs.

North London Hospice, which supports more than 3,500 people with life-limiting illnesses each year as well as their families and carers, relies heavily on charitable donations to continue providing care free of charge.

Pippa Baker, Head of Fundraising at the hospice, said the contribution would have a direct impact on local families.

"Every penny raised helps to ensure that those living in North London with a life-limiting illness are not alone and receive the kindness, dignity and care everyone deserves at the end of life," she said.

She added that support from fundraising events has become more important than ever as financial pressures continue to affect the hospice sector.

The event was sponsored by mydeposits and hosted by Shamplina.
