Landlords are being offered an innovative new maintenance service which could save thousands of pounds in repair costs on their properties.
One Call Home Assist has launched a new fixed price service that’s designed to cover every repair and maintenance costs that arise in properties being let out to tenants.
The service has been designed as a value-for-money rival to expensive maintenance contracts offered by energy suppliers such as British Gas. With a One Call Home Assist contract, all emergency repair work to electrical, plumbing and heating systems are covered, as well as general maintenance issues. The contracts also cover all PAT and gas safety testing.
The firm has set a target of signing up at least 3000 contracts in its launch area of the Edinburgh and Lothians by the end of the year and hopes to expand the service to other parts of Scotland soon.
The scheme is being launched with a free Energy Performance Certificate (all new properties being let need to have an EPC) being offered with every new contract taken out, providing a potential saving of £80 for landlords.
Managing Director Paul Greaves said he is confident the company is onto a winner with One Call Home Assist.
He said: “We are the only company in the UK offering this service. Some may offer maintenance elements, but none are offering a fixed fee contract which also includes services such as property maintenance, boiler and heating cover, gas and electrical safety testing and 24/7 emergency call-out.
We have spotted a niche in this sector, particularly with landlords who want to have their properties rented out for the minimum amount of fuss.”

One Call Home Assist is offering a range of fixed prices contracts depending on size of the property and type of maintenance cover required with an all-in contract for a one-bed flat costing £32.99 a month (inc VAT).
All the work is carried out by One Call Home Assist’s expert in-house contractor teams who operate on a round the clock basis from their base in Gorgie, Edinburgh.
