The Home Office requires accommodation for Asylum Seekers in many areas. Landlords granting long-term leases on the special scheme will receive guaranteed rental with nil voids until 2 April 2005.

The service provider (Organisation holding a Government Contract to handle properties in the scheme) will manage the property, visiting weekly, taking responsibility for any damage caused by the tenants.

Asylum Seekers Accommodation sought includes: 2,3 & 4 bedroom houses and flats, HiMOs, Hotels and Guest Houses, Halls of Residence, ex Military, ex Nursing, Institutions etc.

  1. But will the insurance market provide cover for asylum seekers as tenants, or sub-tenants, if a government contracted organisation acts as Landlord? Can you advise on how to source insurers who will cover such tenant arrangements? Thanks
