According to Government figures, the number of empty homes in England stands at 635,127.

Seeking to address the problem, the Government appointed an ‘empty homes advisor’ in 2012 and funding has been made available to local councils under the ‘New Homes Bonus’ scheme.

With the latest data on empty homes and long-term vacant properties showing encouraging progress, this timely symposium provides an invaluable opportunity for local authorities, housing associations, developers, third sector organisations and other key stakeholders to discuss the Government’s sustainable housing policy and the roles of local authorities and their strategic partners in bringing empty homes back into use.

For further details about the symposium, please refer to the enclosed event brochure. Do feel free to circulate this information to relevant colleagues within your organisation.
