Kier Homes, which prides itself on being a company committed to excellence from initial design through to construction and after sales care, has appointed Residential Management Group (RMG: www.rmgltd.co.uk; tel: 0845 002 4310) to manage two of its forthcoming developments in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.

Paul Voden from Kier Homes emphasises the importance of involving a managing agent early in a development, before the properties have even been built. He says: “This way we are able to confirm what areas should be covered under the management agreement, and that plans for the legal documentation confirming the transfer of the freehold from the developer to the purchaser, are finalised at an early stage.”

He continues: “We appointed RMG as Managing Agent for these sites because they have been providing us with a good service on other projects and came up with an attractive cost proposal.”

“They also now produce an information pack for new residents, which outlines the responsibilities of the Managing Agent to help prevent any misunderstandings about things like service charges further down the line,” concludes Paul.

The sites at Wygate Park in Spalding and Bydand Lane in Little Paxton, St Neots, will comprise 539 and 49 houses respectively, including Housing Association properties and private homes.

Having confirmed the areas that will be covered under the Management Agreements, Kier Homes and RMG will hold quarterly briefing meetings to ensure that the developments are progressing as planned.

In addition, RMG will also produce a report outlining responses from purchasers so that any issues can be dealt with at an early stage before they have a chance to become a major problem on site.
