The Government approved tenancy deposit protection (TDP) scheme mydeposits (England and Wales) has introduced the ability to allow letting agents to apply to join the scheme online, eliminating the burden of most of the paperwork.
The online process means letting an application in future can be a much faster, simplified experience, especially for letting agents who join with Client Money Protection Insurance (CMPI) or belong to a membership trade body.
Kate Hayes, Business Development Manager for mydeposits commented;
“The new three-step online process means that letting agents can now join mydeposits more easily than ever before and eliminates much of the paperwork that is usually required to sign up to a Tenancy Deposit Protection scheme.”
“Our scheme is open to all agents, regardless of whether they belong to an accredited membership organisation or not. The new changes mean that as soon as the account has been confirmed and setup by our team, letting agents can begin protecting their clients’ deposits which dramatically speeds up the process. I hope that this shows our continued efforts to make to deposit protection easier and quicker for all parties involved.”
The online application form went live mid-July and letting agents can apply to join the scheme here
