The value of long-term empty properties across East London exceeds £1.6 billion; over £2 billion If you add in potential accommodation above shops and empty offices that could be turned into accommodation.

As a result, event organisers AEP Media are working together with the East London Partnership (a consortium of East London Boroughs) and the charity Empty Homes to deliver the East London Empty Property Expo, aimed specifically at assisting the owners of empty properties, to bring them back into use.

Sponsored by Wickes and David Phillips Furniture, the event – taking place at the Barbican in London on Saturday 19th July – will focus on helping owners realise the potential of their empty properties by delivering access to funding streams, leasing opportunities, advice from local authorities, government bodies and private sector companies, advice on obtaining planning permission and much more!

The event – which is open from 10am to 5pm and comprises an exhibition and free programme of informative seminars – will be the largest empty property event ever staged in England; it will give empty property owners an opportunity to get advice and assistance on a wide range of topics which will enable them to bring their properties back into use.
