Eddie Hooker, CEO of award winning Hamilton Fraser Total Landlord Insurance and Paul Shamplina, Founder of Landlord Action and Brand Ambassador at Hamilton Fraser, are back for a New Year property podcast.
The podcast is part of a series and features episodes offering practical tips for landlords and letting agents on how to better manage the renting process and navigate the property industry.
In the latest episode, titled ‘Make Landlording Great Again in 2019’, Paul and Eddie review the changes experienced by landlords and letting agents in 2018 and give a preview of what they can expect in 2019.
There were multiple changes that impacted landlords and letting agents in 2018, including the homeless reduction act, gas safety changes, adjustments to HMO regulations and tax relief reduction. Eddie and Paul discuss the impact that these have had on the property industry.
With further changes to the private rented sector on the horizon. Eddie and Paul also provide a preview of 2019 and talk about the proposals for longer tenancies, landlord regulation and the tenant fee ban.
Eddie and Paul also provide their own thoughts on how we can make landlording great again. And in a final end of year flourish, Eddie asks Paul a new closing question… If you could make one new property law, what would it be?
