Default Are curtains legally necessary? T complaints

Just found this question on the Landlord law Q&A section... how crazy are these people??

I rented my flat unfurnished, without curtains. The tenant looked round and rented the flat as seen, signed the inventory and stayed for 6 months. Since moving out she has issued me with a claim for £2000 to compensate her for having to live in a flat without curtains! Could you advise me if she has a claim? Angela, Leeds

Does this tenant really feel they have a claim or are they just pushing it to see how green the landlord is!

there are some other great ones on this months addition.. like "I signed an AST for 12 months in February, I have bought a house and the Agent wont accept my notice... they have informed the LL and I fear the agent will take the LLs side in all this as they take a cut of the rent"... I mean cmon how stupid are ppl today!

Oh and on a serious note... I am NOT a Legal person and therefore anything I post could be complete and utter drivel... but its what I have learned in the University called Life!
