Default How long will she last?

Theresa May seems determined to hang on to power.

Your predictions are invited as to how long she can survive.

I give her until August/September, when she'll cynically call another election, thinking she can dent the student vote. (She's wrong).

Polls are that Corbyn will have an absolute majority is a general election is cold.

I think the Tories will try to hang on as long as possible but they may very well get rid of her within a month...

so they won't call an election anytime soon if the polls are against them. It is easy to promise lots of free stuff when you know you won't win...wonder how different the next Labour manifesto will be?

Thank you! (I've obviously been out of teaching too long. I used to be able to guess stuff like that, too!)

I am amazed that the other Tories haven't torn May limb from limb yet. Although, there isn't really anyone half-competent waiting in the wings, is there?

She has the job that, right now, no-one wants. After Brexit is well under way, the " I can lead you to the promised land" briefings will emerge.

I wished that May had done a Major, who put Heseltine into the fray and the hustings, ad likewise put Boris into the debates. it would have spectacular.

Looks like the skills I learned on my mid-life PGCE were useful after all!
The PM job during the Brexit negotiations won't be an easy one with the "soft Brexit" squealers making noise and the Establishment willing to do anything to keep the status quo...
I don't think there is an appetite for a leadership battle amongst the Tories at the moment but you never know.
Meanwhile Corbyn and his cronies are trying to stage a coup.
    Strange times we live in.....
