Cooker door missing

Hi

The door to the grill in my cooker is missing. the grill works fine without and you are not supposed to cook with a grill door closed anyway. But a friend told me that it wont pass a gas safety cert without the door. the inspection is due shortly. is this true that it will be failed for missing a door?

Is the grill also a 'top oven'?

What does your gas safety certificate say about the appliance?

Have you got the owner's manual?
It may say something in there. If you haven't you may be able to find it to download on line.
Then I would contact the technical dept of the cooker manufacturer to ask them.
If they say it is safe then that should be ok.
I am not a heating engineer - and i could be wrong.
