Charge Tenants for Time for Repairs?

Hi,
My tenants have agreed that they caused damage to the property.

They have suggested I do the repairs after they have moved out which they are due to do soon.

Can I charge them for the time it takes for the repairs to be made?
Eg if it takes 1 week to repair can I charge them 1 weeks rent?

(Their deposit is secured under TDS with LA)

I think this is unlikely to wash with the deposit protection scheme. Lost rent through voids, regardless of whether caused by tenant damage needing repairs, or just plain lack of tenants, is something landlords have to live with!

You can charge them a reasonable hourly rate based on the type of work done and the skill required to do it. So cleaning can be charged at £9-15 per hour (depending on the local rate); skilled joinery work at £25 per hour.

It's nothing to do with how much rent you are losing, as advised above.
