Hope Im posting this in the right place.
We moved into an unfurnished property, which when moving in, was found to hhave several pieces of furniture in.
The letting agest said to us that anything left in the house could be disposed of and was not wanted. So we got rid of everything....
We have recently had a Landlord inspection, who has queried the missing items and has stated that they were not to be disposed of at all.
The property was let as unfurnished, there was no inventory of the items undertaken.
The landlord has said that the items were in the attic room which was not part of the lease - however the attic room was not locked, and no where in the lease does it say that access to the attic is restricted at all.
The property is a detached building, and was let as a whole.
The letting agent is of course saying that he did not tell us to dispose of anything.
Were do we stand in all of this?
