I begrudge even more tax cheats & civil list beneficiaries - costing significantly more than benefit cheats....
Brighthouse, Wonga etc etc etc - couldn't agree more, scum exploiting the poor & vulnerable (amongst others...)
Cheers!

I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...
Surely that's the point: by using their HB to buy luxuries they do not have to buy from Brighthouse or use Wonga. We LLs are so generous and kind...

I walked past a pawn brokers today and noticed that a pre owned flat screen seemed a lot cheaper than a new TV of a smaller size.
It seems the upgrading to 50 or 60 inch screens create a glut of the 32 " plus.
Based on the information posted, I offer my thoughts.Any action you then take is your liability. While commending individual effort, there is no substitute for a thorough review of documents and facts by paid for professional advisers
Yeah. Some of my tenants have a 60" telly that seems to be on 24/7, and they have the cheek to complain to me about their electricity bill!I have a 14" CRT TV that uses 40 watts. I believe a 60" uses more like 250 watts.
Inch for watt that's about the same then.

Not really, it's screen area that matters, so the 60" screen is far more economical.

60" TV?! Holy Molly!
And after a quick look online, they don't exactly come cheap. Each person has her own priorities, I guess...
Just need to wait for 8k: That looks cool.

Handy Money-Saving Tip No 1. : just buy a smaller TV and sit closer to it.
I have dreamed in my life, dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas; they have gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind. Emily Bronte
You can barely give the old CRTs away.
I treated myself to a smart TV (that'll piddle a few LLs off huh!) when the old CRT failed to fail the PAT after the flood *sighs* bloomin' thing survived the previous flood too! I was allowed a replacement stand for it but not the actual TV itself. I didn't want to put such a heavy TV on the new wooden floor so that's my excusehaha.
Paid for using interest free argos card and was paid off in 6 months (I did have 12 months interest free but like to pay up in advance).
I will never condone a T ever using rent money for anything other than rent - regardless of the source of their income.
I'm a good tenant with great landlords
