    Highly unlike there would be a Huge jump in the amount of rent paid after succession to Assured Tenancy.

    In any case you can appeal any rent increase within the 1st 28 days notice of increase...

    You do realizes when UC is phased in all over the UK.

    The rent part of UC will be paid direct to the Tenant, unless the T is living in supporting housing/housing association or special needs.
