I read in yesterday's paper that the Tenancy Deposit Scheme is going to be used by HMRC to find out those landlords who are not disclosing rental income by failing to complete an annual tax return as they are required to do.

They are likely to commandeer the information from the 3 schemes and then "invite" landlords to perhaps tell them something they haven't done until now, if they have reason to believe they've been "economic with the truth".

You have been warned if you are such a person!

They have other sources of information as well, letting agents and rental adds, local authority where council tax is not paid by a registered owner. Regards Peter
