hi can we put a caravan and live temporaly live in it,on my mother in laws driveway,it will be hidden by a hedge,so it will not be an eyesore.she has lived in the house for 31 yrs,she is giving us permission to do so,CAN OUR LOCAL COUNCIL [north somerset ]TELL US TO MOVE,thanks charley 686

Why not ring them and ask, you won't have to give your name or address, that way you will know for sure.

It depends what you mean by Temporary... if its short then probably not but if you're there for a longer time that I would have thought you would need planning permission... in effect you're putting another dwelling on the site...

Is it a holiday caravan?? This might get you off the hook as the caravan could be classed as a mobile structure.... Unfortunately I cannot give you a definitive answer on this - case law needs to be studied to get an answer...

How long do you intend to be there?? As suggested, it might be best if you call the planning dept and ask them... if you have nowhere else to live and feel its a risk doing this then maybe a good planning consultant can help you...
