Telephone Line??

Hi a friend of mine says I 'need' to put a telephone line in my property before I let it out??
I can't find anything to say that I legally HAVE to do this anywhere.
anyone shed any light on this for me please??

There is no legal requirement and as so many use their mobiles for much of their communication needs these days, a line is less necessary than it was. However, some potential tenants may need one for broadband connection, thus you may decide it prudent to pay the one-off installation fee should a potential tenant request a line.
