My new insurance company is insisting that I get an NICEIC certificate for a two-bedroom flat that I rent out.
The electrician I have contacted tells me that this will be an all-day job. Can this be right?

Not sure what is meant by a NICEIC certificate, but I assume it is a Periodic Inspection Report. For that, 2-3 hours would be more appropriate I'd have thought.
I agree with Eric. Our domestic electrical installation periodic inspection report comes on an NICEIC headed form. For a 3 bedroomed terraced house it certainly didn't take a whole day. Our electrician charged £125+VAT last year to do the inspection. I'd be curious to know if that sounds reasonable by anybody else's experience.
