Government deposit scheme for company lets

At the moment it would appear that TDS is just being set up for AST's. Does anyone know whether a relocation company who mainly use their own company let tenancy agreement could request for the Landlords of tenancies starting after 06/04/07 to put the deposit into the scheme and would this be accepted by TDS? If not, are there any plans for company lets to be included in the future?

TDS applies only to ASTs. That is explicit in HA 2004. Letting to a company is not capable of being an AST.
I suppose that one of the TDS agencies could agree to receive a deposit on a contractual (non-statutory) basis. Why not ask them?

Chances are the relocation company will issue their own contract as you say.
Be sure to read it throughly as it will be filled with a lot of "cannot be withheld unreasonably" statements after almost everything. I had to get one relocation agent to take a number of them out. Their customers will probably sign an AST in the name of the employees, rather than their employer.
