Hi, newby here. ;)
Hubby & I bought a property in August & rented out in September. Tenants defaulted by November & all we've had since then is one & a bit months payment. We've issued a S48 & a S8 which was served today.
I know we have to wait 2 weeks before applying for a court order & then we lodge an N5 & N119 at the court. Once we hear from the court, can anyone tell me what happens next?
We are going to try & do this without a solicitor to keep costs down (mortgage still needs paying right? :( ) so any advice would be gratefully received.
We haven't heard from the tenants in weeks- I was thinking of calling them to offer them a few choices..pay up, get out or go to court. At least if they left we would be rid of them & not have the hassle & expense of court, not to mention all the time it takes while they are living rent free in our house
If it gets to court, do they get a CCJ? Do they have to pay the arrears & court costs? Any idea what it will cost us?
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer
xx
