We are letting one of properties through an agent. We usually manage them ourselves and a comment the agent made yesterday has got us concerned. She asked if we would like a certificate carried out on the electircs, when we said no it was not necesary, the house was built in the last 10 years, she stated that we would need one next year when the new law came into force. I have been looking for some dates when this will come in, we manage a large portfolio and need to prepare for this! I have searched in here and some other sites but can see no mention of it, only part P and this does not seem to mention certification either!

Anyone care to enlighten me please! A web adddress will be fine!

Thanks x

As far as I am aware (I try to keep up to date on these things because I am an electrician) there is no new law coming in. Part P of the building regulations has nothing to do with inspections.

Read the following link to see whats required regarding testing of electrics.
