We have not long moved into our new property which is a mid terrace just like our last house in which we had no issues.

Now one side of the new property is also owned by the same landlord, and this side is being a right PITA to be honest, there music is so loud they cannot even hear us knocking on the door or window to ask them to turn it down, I can hear it thoughout my house. That side dont really like us as they are scared of dogs and we have two, they also constantly stare at us when we are in our garden.

Is there anything the landlord can do about the noise?

Your landlord cannot order the tenants to keep the noise down, you need to contact he EH dept. at your council.

If its in the AST landlord could send letter quoting AST and untenant like behaviour. Most ASTs have terms for not playing music loud or disturbing neighbours etc

There is a point is our own AST anbout not being loud and disterbing others around us. Infact we have spoken to the nextdoor on the other side of us and 1 night they could also hear the music though our house but thought it was us.. Tbh they are just a pain in the butt both ourselfs and the otherside dont even like to use our own back gardens because they stare over and watch our every move

It is important to diferentiate what the landlord might do, and what he has to do.

Sadly, he has to do nothing.

As JTA suggests, contact the council who will assess the amount of disturbance and issue noise abatement orders if they feel it is appropriate. If your neighbours do not comply with a NAO then there are considerable fines.
