Addendum for AST for a name change?

Hi guys,

My tenants have recently got married, and wish to change the details on their tenancy to say their married name instead of their separate names.

Does anyone use or have a decent addendum that they use for situations like this? I think it'd be easier than trying to get them to resign a whole tenancy agreement.

There is no need to alter anything, it will still be valid. I suggest you leave well alone.

As Paul_f says, there's absolutely no need to change any details. The marriage doesn't affect the tenancy contract at all. They are still the same people/tenants.

If the tenants are absolutely adamant that they want to amend the name details, tell them you are willing if they pay - in advance - for your solicitor to draft the documentation.
