Ash tenancy after 8 years?

Dear all
I would appreciate any advice or thoughts on the following? I have had a tenant on a Ash agreement for over eight year and it has currently lapsed by about 2 years or so. What the best thing to do with regards his agreement and is he still an ash tenant and under the same terms and conditions

I take it you mean AST?

When the last contract expired, his tenancy became a "Statutory Periodic Tenancy". Exactly the same as the AST with the exception of terms relating to notice.

Your tenant must give a minimum of 1 months notice to bring the tenancy to an end.
You must give at least 2 months notice before seeking possession

Both of the above must expire on the last day of a tenancy period.
