Hi,
Wondering is anyone had any advice or recommendations. I have a flat which has a hallway on 2 floors (kitchen & livingroom downstairs, bedrooms & bathroom upstairs).
I want to fit mains powered smoke detectors on both floors via the lighting socket with wireless connection between the two. Unfortunatly the light on the 2nd floor ties in directly to the one on the first floor. If you switch off the lights on the bottom, then the top hall light goes off too. As such I can't fit the detector onto the top light as it will switch off when the light goes off.
Its going to be a pain to get a new wire up there (flooring is tongue & groove so dont fancy lifting it up).
Are there any mains smoke detectors that you can connect to the electrical socket ring main. I could 'spur' off of a socket on the 2nd floor ok, but haven't seen this type of setup mentioned anywhere.
Hope this explains.
Harry
