Afternoon all,

Not strictly a landlord related question but hope someone may have experience of insurance firms who offer cover suitable for the below story:

Just wondering if any one can help me out. I may be going to work abroad for around six months next year but am having problems getting insurance for my house, I am not really wanting to let the place out although do have permission to lease form the mortgage company.

Does any one know of any firms who would give me buildings and contents cover for a house that will be uninhabited for around 6 months.

I know it will probably be expensive, but am willing to put in extra security measures and can arrange to have the place checked every few days/week if needed (my mum lives round the corner (usually too close :D ))

Thanks
Regards
Postie

HI - we insure a holiday home (furnished) which is often empty for long periods in the winter. It is insured with NFU mutual. Worth a try?

Hi,

We have access to a large panel of insurers at UKinsuranceNET and specialise in Landlords and Property Insurance.

There are insurers who are happy to cover unoccupied properties, if you expect the property to become occupied or tenanted duriong the cover period we can arrange a policy with a provider who would be happy with the change of use as and when that happens

Give us a call on 08453451236. or visit

www.landlords-building-insurance.co.uk

You wont be able to get a quote online if the property is unoccupied but you can submit an enquiry to our insurance advisors who will get straight back to you.

Regards,
