I have had trouble getting access to enter my own website so I can't adjust the pages of my properties since June of this year.
I bought the pc new from Dell in May...had it custom designed . Checked with them and Microsoft and they say everything ok.
With the web host Npower they say it is up to the webdesigner .
He came to my office and did have trouble getting it to work when he initally set it up .
It did work eventually but since June I haven't been able to add propertys and other items.
I have asked him to upteen times to come and see again what the problem is as everyone says it is up to him to sort it out.
But he just ignors me.
He does not live that far. Also he did come originaly to set it up.,shouldn't he again.
Can any of your legal eagles kindly give me advice.Or put me in the direction of someone who can.
Thank you

I take it that you do not have the username and password to get into your hosting server?
The best way forward would be to seek advice from your local Trading Standard. Explain your situation clearly... they are experienced in this sort of dispute and generally give solid advice.

as delsee says you need the username and password, go and see your designer, if you only paid him to set it up, depending on the contract he may not be liable for doing updates.once you get this, you can yourself, or you can get someone else to get on web site and add or change what you need as an out of date site is no use whatsoever

Yes , I have the code and he's sent me a file to download that goes with it but nothing happens my end....... it just won't work for some reason .
I have told him this and he says because he can work it from his PC it must be me.
As for the advice re: local trading office I shall be doing this.
Surely if one supplies a service it should good business practise to see your client is happy with the product.
I wouldn't dream of treating any of my clients like this.
Thank you for your replies.

Looks like a case for the small claims court as I have spoken to the local trading officer and as we are both traders there is nothing they can do.

just out of interest, you can PM the website in question... I may be able to take a look and understand your problem better.

Same here if you so wished....I am in the IT/webdesign trade myself, and could have a look if you want, may be able to let you know whether it is in fact down to the designer or your host. But as for any claim you may have, this would be entirely dependant upon your contract with him. Have you tried accessing it on another PC?
