Hi,
I live in a terraced house that has been converted into two flats. Both myself and the other flat owner are owner/occupiers and we have just purchased the freehold. We now need to buy a joint policy to cover the whole building as a joint policy. Nobody seems to want to touch us! Can you recommend anyone???

Try calling my usual insurance broker: Ember JD, 020 8941 2204

Brilliant, thank you.
Called them up, spoke to someone called Sue, had it all sorted in ten mins.
Hopefully the policy I'm getting suits the legal people.

Completely mad though, it seems such a straightforward thing to do, but because it's not a bog-standard thing, nobody else I'd phoned would touch it.

Thanks again

Hi I face the problem on a daily basis, the direct insurers has somethings to answer to. Their computer systems can only handle policies in the name of an individual.

I am a joint freeholder myself owning half a converted house and can readily offer quotes.

A WORD OF CAUTION TO ALL, IF YOU ARE EVER OFFERED A BUILDINGS POLICY FOR A SINGLE FLAT IN THIS TYPE OF PROPRTY OR EVEN A LARGE BLOCK REPORT THE INSURER/BROKER TO THE FINANCIAL SERVICES AUTHORITY AS THIS IS THE WORST POSSIBLE PRACTICE. Please ask I will give you the reasoning:)

kind regards

Ever since I happened on Ember JD through the telephone book, I have not looked back insurance-wise on my blocks of flats. I am sure you will have a llllllloooooooonnnnnnnggggggg relationship with them.
