View Full Version : Changing a deposit to a month rent

Hi



there is an AST 6 months which expires at the end of this month september . LL has issued a S21 with wrong details back in July which was rejected by the homeless department. he then decided to force entry and evict the Tenant by force and failed as the police were called and gave him a warning not to go near the house in the future. now because he has not found anyone to occupy an illegal building in the garden(another flat in the garden which has no permission) and also got caught not having any inspection done for the conversion of the house as well as not telling the council about it he is going really mad and he wanted the Tenant to move out and has tried everything without going to court.

the bank has a hearing for repossession of the house on Tuesday 26th because of 6 months arrears of Mortgage. the LL has not replied to the court
and most probably is not going to the court. his builder is suing him for non payment and another tenant is having similar problems with him on another house.
because of all this the tenant refused to pay one month untill he provides the documents requested but he failed to reply
he now decided to write to the council and provided them with fake documents to show that the tenant is in Arrears since May and now the council has suspended the Housing benefit and wanted the tenants to give authorisation for the HB to be paid directly to the LL in the future

the tenant is only 4 weeks in arrears and he and the LL both decided that the deposit can be used as rent back in August but now the LL changed his mind and claims he never agreed to it.
What do you suggest the tenant should do? he has one month to reply
