Rental house sold-claim Council Tax?

I sold a house last year which had been occupied by son when a student. Tax was paid when it was rented but for the last year of ownership there were no tenants. Can I claim the Council tax as an expense-or is this not allowable as it was no longer rented? I also rent out 2 other houses so my business is continuing. Thanks.

Then it sounds as though the property came out of your rental business, so on that basis you shouldn't be able to claim a deduction.
