There seems to be no way to add a comment onto a blog entry, if only to tell a member to post in the proper forum. Can this be sorted please or at least add an instruction on the blog site to tell the members where to post.

And what's the point of these blog things on LZ, anyway? Why were they added when LZ was rehashed; and what do they add to the existing system?

Yes! I'm sure I added a comment to a very early blog (it might even have been yours, jta), but I agree, you can't any longer.
