Hi everyone

New landlord: I have 3 appliances that need testing 2 are brand new. Do these require testing and if so is there any one in the Maidstone, Kent area that offers a reasonably priced service? what can one expect to pay?

If any one has a recommendation let me know please asap

Thanks Pencil

Hi pencil, yes, we can help with PAT testing for private landlords (http://www.londonpattesting.co.uk). If you give me a call on 0800 783 6729 and mention the Landlord Zone I'll give you the best price that I can.

We also have a new FAQ section which might help answer any other questions

Don't waste money on PAT tests for new appliances and they shouldn't need one for at least three years.

Interesting statement Paul, can you support this with any documentation? The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) publishes the Code of Practice for Electrical Safety Testing which has a recommended frequency of testing. The shortest period is 3 months and the longest period is 48 months but it all depends on the class of appliance and the environment in which the appliance is kept.
