I would be sceptical of someone who wishes to borrow for 90 / 180 days at 15% interest. This equals 30% to 60% per annum. If the loan is secured, are these 1st or 2nd charges?

If someone proceeds with this one, they would be seriously advised to proceed with caution and pass money only through your solicitors to the borrower's solicitors. Would either solicitor give an undertaking for the safety of the loan monies?

I know the above may sound crazy, but this saved the day for someone I know who had to sue the solicitor's insurers in the High Court to get their money. It took 4 years in the process and carried risk out of all proportion if the action failed in the High Court after a 5 day hearing for a relatively small sum of £80,000.
