I decided to let (for first time) my family home mid July, with instructions with agent that property could not be let until 30/08/10.
Since then I have had several bits of work done, which makes property rentable but also could be classed as improvements.
This includes:
a) Boxing in a boiler
b) Fitting new doors
c) Fitting carpets
Are these allowable expenses, even though "business" has not started?
Note: First tenants move in on 4/9
