i've asked my freeholder for a lease extention.they came back with a offer of £10k and extend by 50yrs making 125yrs altogether.would it be cheaper for me to get them to exted the lease up to 90yrs making it 165yrs.also i've had some replies on your form from various people ( thanks) telling me to get a private valuation. i'm a bit confused as to what these company's will do .do they contact the freeholder and sort everything out on my behalf, and i just cover the company's cost's , also what would the over all cost be . thanks for any advice.

Have you tried to make your own investigation into your rights to a lease extension? The reason I ask is because you are still talking about a 50 year extension, when the statutory minimum that you are entitled to is a 90 year extension (which someone has already told you about).

My recommendation to you is to contact a couple of valuers or surveyors who have experience in valuing lease extensions in your property's location. Ask them what they charge and how they go about deducing their figures.

Jim Child,

You have already opened up threads on 19 July and 24 July asking the same questions.

So why are you opening up a third new thread and asking the same question again?

If you want to add any further comments, you should continue this on the same original thread so all your queries and any replies are on the same thread.
