Increasing Rent & Deposit

I'm in the process of serving a section 13 notice incresaing their rent on a long standing periodic tenant who hasn't had a rent increase since 2002. By increasing the rent will their deposit need to regsitered?

No. Unless a new (or top-up) deposit is received, the old deposit is retained- and the old tenancy is continuing, of course.
