Hi

Hope someone can help please.

I have a tenant's deposit lodged with the Deposit Protection Scheme. The tenant is renewing the tenancy for one more year - do I need to notify the DPS or is there any other admin I need to do regarding the deposit?

I can't seem to see anything on the DPS website about this.

Huge thx!

If you issue a new contract, you have to re-protect the deposit, and re-provide the prescribed information. Call the DPS to find out the procedure for re-protecting.

Of course, no new protection is needed if T merely remains in situ on a statutory continuation tenancy. A renewal, however, is a new letting.
