Hey guys,

I've been looking at commercial property for a while now and am also thinking of starting a business which will require a retail premises for A1 use.

I wanted to know what are the main questions to ask and the main things to look out for in terms of renting approx 700sq ft. Do landlords normally charge per sq ft? and what other things should i ask??

Starting a new business and taking on a new business lease is quite a commitment as I'm sure you are aware.
Do your homework and make sure you understand what you are committing yourself to and what strategies you can use to reduce your risks.
Landlords/Surveyors use rental per square foot/metre as a guide, but remember this is only a guide. Research the local area and find comparable evidence which will give you a good indication of market rents and a good basis to start your negoatiations.
You should find that this article on LandlordZONE gives you a good start - see:
