Can anyone recommend good cheap software, even shareware, to keep track of income and expenses associated with letting a property (not a portfolio of properties, just a single one? Something that will help keep the best records to form the basis of a tax return.

Or has anyone got a good excel template they can send me or link to one on the internet that can be downloaded?

I am surprised that anyone would need a software to keep track of the income and expenditure for a single let property.

You can set up an excel spreadsheet with months running across at the top and the income and expense headings running from top to bottom. Then you slot the figures against each item under the correct month.

Would you still like one and if so, will you be prepared to pay someone to do this?
