Does anyone know a way to block private messages from an individual member without obscuring what they post on the forum as well, please?

Help appreciated!

No. I think that you can bar a specific member's posts only for both forum and pm (not merely one).

Really frustrate them by getting the PMs and ignoring them...or sending back a really friendly nice message agreeing with whatever they say....that really winds them up. Always a good one in traffic when someone is angry at you - a cheery wave often produces steam from their ears and a further flurry of abusive gesticulations which you meet with another wave, smile and thumbs up - and watch them explode!

The problem seems to have resolved itself now, thanks.

Normally I would agree with you, and I did try that at first. In the end I decided that I did not have to put up with unprovoked personal abuse and reported it. I did not specifically request it, but it seems the member responsible has now been removed from the forum. Perhaps if they come back in another incarnation, at least they will know the forum protocol.

glad the problem is sorted for you - some people are so sad. Bet the sender is a real wimp in everyday life and his/her only outlet is to abuse people online. What a saddo!
