Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding regulations on layout. I own two appartments which I intend to rent out on a weekly basis as holiday lets. Any regs I should read/comply with re layout? I am concerned that in both appartments the current layout means that the bedrooms are off the kitchen. To exit the appartemnt from the bedrooms you must go through the kitchen. Each appartment is one bed. I intend to do a full rewire but don't want ot go ahead ubtil I know that the layout is ok.
Many thanks

Local authority buiolding control will advise. Notify them of your rewire while your at it, unless you are getting approved contractors in to do it.
I presume that the properties are in the UK.
If they were built after approx 1990 then they should comply with modern building regulations. These regulations prohibit bedrooms as "innner rooms" i.e., you have to pass through a risk room such as a kitchen or lounge to escape unless you have a window escape.
A window escape is a window less that 4.5m off the ground and is a minimum of 0.3m2 openable area.
Hope this is of some use.
