T abandoned premises after claiming harassment by me

I rented my house out 1 yr 6 months ago. perodic tenacy since 6 months tenatnts have not paid rent since about six months. I hve serveD them with a section 21 and 8 which has now expired. They would not take my calls or respond to any letters sent to them, twice i hve been to the property to knock on the door and they called the police for harrasment.

The situation at the moment is that i am now homeless from where i was renting i have lost my job and using my saving to pay for my rent and mortgage for six months. They have also abandon the property to be living somewhere else with families and i know where they live. They left there stuff in my property and change the locks.

Can i commence and abandonment procedure as i am now homeless and i can not wait for court order, balliff etc and they have another residence.

Please help!

If you re-enter without a Court Order, you risk them suing you! Many other LZ threads mention 'professional tenants' who lurk and await an innocent L in a hurry- then they claim harassment and you have to pay £££. Be warned!

Sorry to hear that: Where are you sleepinG? if on the streets may I suggest you contact CaB or Shelter ??

- both being charities & having too much demand you may need to be patient.


- or, finally, if no options, I have been advised that presenting oneself at the Police station & stating one is homeless can be helpful: I have no personal experience.
