Hi
I am a L and am going on a 8 week holiday. Do I need to inform the tenants?

I wouldn't. They might want to come with you.

Seriously...if nobody else is managing the property in your absence, it might be an idea to give them a number where they can contact you in an emergency. (One which relates to the property, at any rate).

If you do not, what will you do when you return and discover that the water tank in the roof has burst. The tenants are claiming for illegal eviction, the property is sodden and mould-ridden.

How do they normally contact you?? I always give tenants my mobile (even if there is an agent) and last May in Malta received a call from Polish tenants with a problem, as I always take my dog...

Ah! (Low-energy light-bulb comes on in head). That makes a bit more sense.

Still not sure about the use of 'as', but never mind.

Good try, Jeffrey, but I was puzzled by the pragmatic implications of 'as' rather than the semantic ones - and 'as' for 'has' would lack grammatical coherence in this context anyway!

Have a Smartie for trying, all the same. :)
