We currently have a residential and commercial unit, a large flat above a restaurant but the restaurant have been closed for over 4 years and has been used as a house for this period. We are also paying residential rates on the entire property.
Do we need to apply for change of use or is it now considered a residential unit?
Reason being we wish to now transfer this property from our mothers ownership to her sons and daughters but do not want to aquire a commercial unit.
