Hi - I have a house split into flats. On the ground floor there is a front room with its own door. At the bottom of the hall is the front door to a self coontained flat. At the top of the stairs -rear- there is a kitchen and bathroom. The top floor consists of a s/c unit with its own front door. As you can see the ground floor hallway and the stairs are communal.
What I need to verify is whether I can use the ground floor front room and the bathroom/ kitchen at the top of the stairs as a s/c flat, or do all rooms and facilities need to be in one combined area in order to be classed as s/c? Thank you - alabama

Alabama: are you asking about the Planning aspects, HMO, or generally residential lettings?
