The Moneyfacts website has two very useful tabulations, showing (separately for Banks and for Building Societies) which is the ultimate parent of each one. This is particularly important for Deposit Protection Scheme purposes.

Another useful table can be seen on MoneySavingsExpert (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/safe-savings#whatcounts) which gives a clear, visual indication of which banks are standalone and which are part of the same institution, and hence maximum FSCS protection available.
