hi i am a landlord .i sacked a letting agent (moorfoot estates in wolverhampton) in april due to bad service .as the tenant they found was still living there and wishing to continue to live in my property i asked the agents to transfer the tenants deposit to myself ,as i set up an account with the same dps service so its easy to transfer.anyway months later nothing.phone calls later still nothing so i decided to get in touch with the property onbudsman.today they rang back stating the deposit may not have been protected and told me to seek legal action. in moorfoot contract my tenant signed it does state they use a deposit protection scheme .i have rang them but they cannot help me.the onbudsman gave me moorfoot solicitors details (they are no longer acting for them ) which is no good.what can i do to get this deposit ?
how do i start to take legal action?
they are not answering the phones today. i am planning to go in the office on wednesday
can anyone give me advice of what to do when im in there?
how do i get this deposit back
